With parishioners representing over 60 nations, the diversity of our parish community is a constant manifestation to the world of the universality of God’s love in the Catholic Church, which is the Body of Christ.
Here at Queen of Peace, our parish family is very much in a similar transition. Our Religious Education, RCIA, marriage preparation classes, youth ministry, Friends of St. Adrew and more will be back in session in a few days or weeks. Ministries that took a break during the summer will soon start meeting again. The great expectation for what is to come comes in the Lord’s promise of our new parish center!
This weekend the Church celebrates the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. “Jesus took Peter, James, and his brother, John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them” (Mt 17:1-2). This event calls the disciples to move forward in their faith journey with Jesus, to grow closer to Him, to experience his true identity, and to know Him better.
Last year, more than 1035 of us placed commitment cards before the Lord. Next weekend will be an opportunity to renew your promise, to make a new promise, or to begin again if you found that last year you were unable to keep it. God is patient and merciful with us.
