GRIEF MINISTRY |
Mission
The support group is a shared experience designed for persons who wish the support of a group while going through the process of grieving and/or for persons who are experiencing difficulty resolving the death of a loved one.
The groups combine an educational and supportive approach with the focus on healthy grieving and coping through the use of specific exercises and activities.
Meetings:
A grief group is formed when 8 to 10 people have expressed a desire to come together. The group then meets for 10 consecutive weeks with two trained facilitators leading the group activities.
It is important that the participants commit to an 8 to 10-week program.
The group creates a safe, confidential environment in which to share feelings, understanding, and support. Homework is designed for increased coping and healing.
The group enables a continuation of healing and reinvestment in life and relationships.
