About the Project

We are building a new Parish Center for the benefit of our parish family, and the entire community of Aurora at large! It will feature: A durable and beautiful space to receive the 12,000+ weekly visitors who come to our parish to worship, to receive financial and spiritual support, and to grow as a family of faith. A new parish hall and upgraded kitchen, capable of supporting our many special events. New features, such as a religious store, a coffee room/cafeteria, a youth room, a nursery, a senior’s room, and a hospitality room. Sufficient classrooms to receive the thousands of youth and parents enrolled in religious education classes. A new and easily accessible Adoration Chapel. Much more!

The Need

Physically, our parish is in dire need of a new parish center. The old buildings were beyond repair and could no longer accommodate are increasing amount of activity. Spiritually, the importance is much more crucial. In the midst of a pandemic that has brought uncertainty and fear, we want to build a parish center that will give us hope. In a year filled with unprecedented division and social unrest, we want to build a parish center that will unify us. In a time that the pandemic has caused the divorce rates to increase by 34%, we want to build a parish center that will strengthen our marriages. In a time when youth anxiety and depression have skyrocketed, we want to build a parish center that will teach them the truth about their lives. In a moment when our elderly are bearing the brunt of this pandemic, we want to build a parish center that will show them the consolation and love of Christ.

This relic is a sign of the intimate communion and unity that bonds Queen of Peace with the Universal Church. It will be placed in our new parish center!

Blessing of Workers

A special prayer for the workers of our new parish center.

making a pledge

What is the Capital Campaign?

This Campaign is conducted as a parish wide effort to raise a minimum of $5 million through pledges to be paid over a five year period. This campaign will enable us to build a new Parish Center. Our parishioners have been involved through listening sessions, community meetings and a feasibility study. Every parishioner will be asked to participate in this campaign.

Why is making a pledge important?

A very important reason for making a pledge is that the Archdiocese of Denver extends construction loans and gives consideration towards approval of actual construction, taking into account the total amount received in pledges. Since this project has clearly emerged from expressed and verified needs of our parish community, for the campaign to be  successful every member of the parish needs to give serious consideration to his/her own responsibility to make a pledge. All gifts are welcome. However, one-time, out of pocket giving will not enable us to reach our goal. Therefore, we are asking everyone to give in a sacrificial manner. We are not asking for equal giving but equal sacrifice. We ask you to consider a five-year pledge. You may determine how you fulfill your pledge with weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly payments.

How are pledges made?

A pledge may be honored in the form of cash, check payable to Queen of Peace Capital Campaign, through credit card, securities, life insurance, real estate, individual retirement account distributions, etc. Please make sure you fill out a pledge card available in the church and parish office and keep track of your pledge number.
