Mission
BRINGING TEENS CLOSER TO CHRIST THROUGH THE EUCHARIST, PRAYER, SCRIPTURE, AND
ACTIVITIES
WHILE GIVING THEM A SENSE OF OWNERSHIP IN THE PROGRAM AND THEIR FAITH. |
The Youth Ministry at Queen of Peace is an enriching experience for the Youth of the parish from 6th grade through 12th. We provide opportunities for the Youth to develop faith , enhance leadership skills,
experience social justice in our parish and community as well as the enjoyment of friendships through social events. We
believe in showing the Youth how to truly experience God in all we do.

Social Justice Projects:
The Youth Ministry Program recognizes the need for Social Justice projects in our ministry and strongly encourages all youth to participate. Each year we engage in several projects so that our Youth may see the face of God in all. A few examples are:
-
St. Andrews/St. Vincent DePaul Food Drives
-
St. Andrews Christmas Stocking Program
-
Thanksgiving Basket Program for St. Andrews and Families in Transition
-
Family Christmas Adoption Program at Annunciation Parish (head start class)
-
Pennies from Heaven
Youth Nights:
All classes are on Sunday evening starting immediately after the 5p.m. Youth Mass (approx. 6:15) until 8p.m. We encourage our Youth to experience the Youth Mass with their families and peers. We enable the Youth to experience God in many different ways through out each year.
Some experiences include:
-
Sunday Scripture Readings
-
Music
-
Skits/Dramas
-
Small Groups
-
Adult Sharing
-
Retreats
-

-

-

Each youth program will meet in their individual areas for class and then conclude the evening as ONE BODY for prayer and worship.
Activities:
Youth Ministry at Queen of Peace is very active in many different areas. We are active on Sunday evenings, occasional events on weekends, retreats (parish and diocesan), conferences, work camps and World Youth Day.
