Mass of Farewell to the Great Room

This Monday, July 27th, at 6:30pm, we will be celebrating a farewell Mass in the Great Room, to commemorate the beautiful history of these parish buildings, and to celebrate the coming of our new parish center. All are invited to join us for this special celebration.

We will be following social distancing and all health and safety precautions. Please wear a mask.

Share with us your most memorable moments that took place in the Great Room (when it was in the sanctuary, or more recently.)

Salvage Days

This week our general contractor will begin our mobilization process. That means they will be placing their trailers on site and putting up the construction fence. We will have until Wednesday, July 29th, to be able to enter the building and salvage our belongings. After this date, the buildings will be permanently closed. You are welcome on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week to come through and salvage anything you wish to keep from the old buildings. Let us rejoice in this time of so much excitement and give thanks to God and to our benefactors who have led us to this historic moment!

All of our pastoral ministries WILL CONTINUE. We are using the Loyola Building, located on the corner of Uvalda St. and Mississippi Ave.

Altar server training

Do you feel called to be an Altar Server? Already an altar server who would like more formation? Join us for a training on Sunday, July 26 at 3pm in the church.

Priest sanitizes his hands to give Holy Communion

Starting this weekend, July 18-19, priests will no longer use gloves to distribute Holy Communion. They will use hand sanitizer and continue to wear masks before the consecration. At the time of distribution, the priests will place the Holy Body of Christ in the palm of your hand in a manner so as to avoid any skin-to-skin touching.

We are doing everything possible to ensure your safety and are updating our procedures as more information and research about COVID-19 becomes available. Data shows that the use of gloves does not significantly help stop transmission of the virus, thus we have changed our procedures to eliminate their use.

Confessions

Starting Monday, July 20, confessions will resume in the confessionals. As a precautionary measure, we will not have face-to-face confessions, and we ask that you please wear a mask.

On Fridays, we will use the 2 confessionals to the left of the sanctuary, and one priest will be in the Gathering Space.

We’re moving!

Starting Monday, July 20th, the reception desk will be located in the Gathering Space. All other offices will be located on the 2nd floor of the Loyola Building, located on the corner of Uvalda St. and Mississippi Ave. The address is 13101 E. Mississippi Ave., Aurora, CO 80012.

Remember your mask!

Remember, masks are required for anyone 3 or older attending a public Mass. (A priest does not wear a mask while celebrating Mass, because he is physically distanced from the congregation). Masks are required for anyone working in or visiting a parish office. By wearing masks, we are acting out of love and charity towards each other, while also making it less likely that we will have to return to more restrictive guidelines.
