Anointing of the Sick During Mass
ANOINTING OF THE SICK DURING MASS
Thursday, February 8 at the 6:30am, 12:10pm, and 6:30pm Masses
The following dates for Anointing of the Sick during Mass this year are May 9th, August 8th and November 7th.
The Rite of Anointing tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive the Sacrament. A careful judgment about the serious nature of the ill-ness is sufficient. When the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is given, the hoped-for effect is that, if it be God's will, the person be physically healed of illness. But even if there is no physical healing, the primary effect of the Sacrament is a spiritual healing by which the sick person receives the Holy Spirit's gift of peace and courage to deal with the difficulties that accompany serious illness or the frailty of old age.
UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS DURANTE LA MISA

Las siguientes fechas para la Unción de los Enfermos durante la Misa este año son el 9 de mayo, el 8 de agosto y el 7 de noviembre.
El Rito de la Unción nos dice que no hay necesidad de esperar hasta que una persona esté al borde de la muerte para recibir el Sacramento. Un juicio cuidadoso sobre la gravedad de la enfermedad es suficiente. Cuando se da el Sacramento de la Unción de los Enfermos, el efecto esperado es que, si es la voluntad de Dios, la persona sea sanada físicamente de la enfermedad. Pero aunque no haya curación física, el efecto primario del sacramento es una curación espiritual por la que el enfermo recibe el don del Espíritu Santo de la paz y la valentía para afrontar las dificultades que acompañan a la enfermedad grave o la fragilidad de la vejez.

Youth Iconography Workshop
YOUTH ICONOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
If you are between 15-21 years old, come to our Iconography workshop on Saturday mornings at 9:30am in Loyola Building. You will learn how to reproduce icons and you will meet a new good group of friends. All youth are invited! We are working on the icon of Pentecost. Solemnity of the Assumption
Dear Parishioners,
"The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15 is a holy day of obligation".
This is the schedule of the Solemnity of the Assumption.
On Monday, August 14th, there is only an evening Mass at 5:30 pm (Bilingual mass)
On Tuesday, August 15th, there is mass:
- 6:30 am (English mass)
- 12:10 am (English mass)
- 5:30 pm (English mass)
- 7:30 pm (Spanish mass)
There is no confessions in the morning nor afternoon on Tuesday, August 15th.

LANDSCAPING WORK IS ALMOST FINISHED

We wanted to share with you that our landscaping work is wrapping up. Every task we complete means we are one step closer to our Inauguration on Sunday, September 3rd. We are extremely grateful to all of you for your help and support! Please continue praying for us in these last months of the construction period; we can’t wait to celebrate together.
